Taylor Jenkins Reid – A Genius? *Spoilers for Daisy Jones & The Six*

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

My rating: 4/5

“Men often think they deserve a sticker for treating women like people.”

I think the best thing about this book is the phenomenal way Taylor Jenkins Reid writes insufferable characters, yet you still want to find out what happens to every single one of them. This story is written in such an interesting way that you either love it or hate it. I loved it and found it very easy to follow, and I loved the world-building elements that it created. However, I did not like the part with the author. It took too much away from the story.

I do love old Hollywood themes in stories. But this story helped me learn that I think I just hate rockstars.

Why can’t Billy just be good for Camila? He tries to quietly be good for her, but I cannot imagine being near a man like him, let alone with one. “I trust you so much I can tolerate you having secrets.” > NO! that isn’t a choice. Love can never be that kind of choice.

On that note, I would hate a girl like Daisy. Not because of her beauty and talent (I love Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus) but because she is cruel and thoughtless. There were moments I liked her. “Dream Big, Little Bird. Love Daisy.”

One really cool part of this book was abortion. It was knowledgeable. “Knowing you did the right thing doesn’t mean you’re happy about it.”
